Little Things you can do for Yourself Everyday

Opening the eyes to a clanging alarm each morning can be rough, especially if the daily schedule is jam packed. Most days we do what is necessary to get through, grabbing a bite, running errands, catching a bit of sleep. But what if we set a goal to do a few things everyday that would bring pleasure to our routine to try and be a little kinder to ourselves.

Here is a list of little things that you can do for yourself everyday that might make you smile as you stroll through your week.

Take Care of Yourself

Making sure that you leave ample time to lather up with your favorite soap or shampoo. Give yourself a mini spa day in your own home by doing a face mask or perhaps a hot oil treatment for your hair. Maybe a daily teeth whitening will bring that smile back.

Positive self talk

Focusing on the negative will never get you anywhere - you attract what you think.  But what about during the morning routine you only think positive thoughts.  Congratulate yourself on the little things like maybe the way you did your hair, finishing a book, or achieving a personal goal.  If this is too difficult, just notice the negative messages and try it again the next day.

Add Lemon To Your Water

Not only will this encourage you to drink more water, but lemons are packed to the brim with nutrients. Lemon water does wonders for your skin thanks to those antioxidants; it flushes out toxins, and gives you a much needed energy boost, among many other great benefits. Plus, it's just a fun and tasty way to spruce up your water!

Give Yourself Some Me-Time

A little solitude in an age when we're so connected all the time and never seem to have a second to ourselves, is a breath of the freshest air for the soul. Dedicating some time only for ourselves can be intimidating, but it is a time to relax and an opportunity  to do things you never get to do.

Walk It Off and Get Some Sunlight

Walking more has serious health benefits, whether it's taking the stairs or the scenic route, it can help clear your head and release any built up tension. While you’re at it, walk outside and get some fresh air and sunlight. The natural light can reduce stress and boost your overall mood to help you feel rejuvenated.

Clean your Space

Keeping the space around you clean can help your life feel a little more put together. Tidying up your workspace or home and getting rid of stuff you don't need will make you feel calmer and more in control. But don't limit yourself to just decluttering, make your environment the way you want it to be so that it's a pleasant place. Doing things like having fresh flowers on your desk is a good start.

Forgive Yourself

We all screw up and tend to be our own worst critics. We are human and naturally, as the ways of the universe go, we make mistakes. So do yourself a favor and let go of any guilt you've been harboring, disappointment that may be getting you down, or even any regrets you may have.

Acknowledge your progress — no matter how big or how small — and remind yourself of all the awesome stuff that makes you who you are.
